Project Overview
This project was Porch's first mobile offering back in 2014. It was a Consumer focused offering releasing first on iOS and Android later followed. On first release it had Three verticals it was strategically attempting to see where Product Market Fit could be. It's core features were a live digital Concierge service that worked live from the app and directly with a person for matching services to a customers needs, a full Search Engine of all listings that Porch offered in a customers area, and a Booking/Matching vertical service for getting someone to work on a customers home (very similar to the model that Uber & Lyft use). The release was well received by the press and landed the CEO an Interview on CNBC's Mad Money and helped boost the company to being 2014's USA Today's Start up of the year.
My Contributions
I was the design lead for this mobile offering and joined it as it had already been in development and after Porch had attempted to release the feature suite but had yet to be able to have everything work in concert with each other. It was one of the fastest timelines I've ever had to work. As the team and I had to bring everything together in roughly 3/4th of a single business quarter. This required me to mentor and guide a designer that was handling the search vertical and then to handle redesigning the 2 other major verticals, 2 other minor verticals and bring everything in concert together in order to have a viable and desirable product offering. I have many more flows and examples of what this product launch and offering looked like, how it functioned as well the motion design studies that were applied in the app. Would be happy to show you more if you'd like. Just reach out!
